12′ to find Power Clean Max

A couple things to improve your chances at a PR:

  • Rest 1′ between light attempts. Rest 2-3 minutes between heavy/PR attempts.
  • Stay in the 6-8 total set range.
  • Make bigger jumps in weight selection early, smaller as you get closer your PR.
  • Never match a PR. Always set yourself up for a 1-2kg PR. Once you hit that, go for more. Don’t get greedy and go for a 5kg PR and come away with nothing.
  • Example: Current PR – 100kg (60×2, 70×2, 80, 87, 92, 97, 101kg), Current PR – 50kg (20×2, 30×2, 37, 43, 47, 51kg).
